Exclusive delicacy
Lobster is a delicacy in the Netherlands. Lobsters need a rocky environment in order to be able to hide away in holes and cracks. Most lobsters are caught abroad with lobster pots (also called lobster traps) or with hoop nets (fykes) from small boats. They are transported to Yerseke as quickly as possible after they have been caught. Once they have arrived in Yerseke, they are placed in special lobster basins. But don't let us forget our own lobsters: those from the Oosterschelde.
Our Oosterschelde lobsters practically come out of our back garden – so they couldn't be fresher! The short transport times to the customer and method of catching makes them particularly sustainable. The flavour of Oosterschelde lobsters is subtler and milder than that of other lobsters. Come and taste it for yourself! Our Canadian lobsters come from the cleanest water in the world, near Nova Scotia. Our inspectors check every specimen meticulously. You can also find lobsters from Scotland and Norway in our special lobster basin: European lobsters.
